How it works

Setup takes about 15 minutes, and your own Claude Code does the work.

  1. Download, paste one promptUnzip the kit, open Claude Code in the folder and paste the prompt from the install guide. Claude installs Bernard, asks for your Gemini key, and opens one window for you to sign in to Canvas. Then it reads your classes and every exam date.
  2. "Get me ready for my stats midterm"Bernard already knows when it is. Say yes, and a bar on your screen shows him working: reading your professor's slides, outline, announcements and practice tests, then writing your guide. Ten to twenty-five minutes.
  3. He teaches you, out loudSection by section, most important first, two or three sentences at a time, then he waits for you. He works every example with you step by step. Say "quiz me" when you're ready. You can type instead of talking.

Questions

Is this safe? Does Bernard get my Canvas password?

No. You sign in to Canvas yourself, in a window that opens on your Mac, the same way you always do. Bernard keeps that sign-in on your Mac and only reads your own courses. He never posts, submits or changes anything on Canvas. Nothing is sent to us: your voice goes to Google Gemini to understand you, and the material for a guide goes to your own Claude Code to write it.

Why do I need a paid Claude plan?

Claude Code is what reads your professor's files and writes your study guide. It runs on your plan, on your Mac, so your guides are yours and we never see them. We don't resell Claude, and we don't get anything from Anthropic. If you already pay for Claude Pro or Max, there's nothing extra.

Will my Claude actually install it, or will it say "I can't do that"?

The kit tells your Claude Code in plain words what Bernard is: your own software, bought by you, run on your Mac, reading only your own Canvas. Claude asks you before each step in its normal way and you can read every file. We ran the install with a fresh Claude Code and no special settings; it followed the steps.

Which schools does it work with?

Any school that uses Canvas, which is most US colleges. Built and tested at CSULB. If your school's sign-in page looks different and the window doesn't close by itself, email us: that part is a one-line fix on our side.

What if something breaks?

Open Claude Code in the Bernard folder and tell it what happened; it knows how to fix setup problems. Still stuck? Email support@waar.com.hk from the address you paid with, with what you saw on screen.
